Spencer 199 Addiscombe 156-9
Addiscome clung on for a vital 1st Division point on Saturday, but a losing draw against Spencer sees them still firmly at the bottom of the table.
I Mohammed and A Khan gained 42 runs, taking advantage of Addiscombe's over-confidence. Richard Johnson had Mohammed (26) caught by Cooper but Khan improved the score. Off-spinner Ben started with a wicket maiden when Khan (30) stumped Matthew Crocombe after 33 overs.
Riaz and Amir Saleem surprised Addiscombe with a counter offensive, with eight overs remaining. Cooper went for 10 in one over, and Potter suffered 15 in the 57th over before catching Riaz (33). Spencer were bowled out but Amir Saleem (40), David Thompson gave the home side a score of 199 runs.
Addiscombe started their innings poorly. Chris Salmons was bowled by Amir Saleem and Andy Poulton did not score until the 11th over. Richard Johnson scored 40 of the next 56 runs, battling to regain the initiative.
Turk replaced seamer Riaz, who bowled Johnson and later had Liddemore (22) caught. Adnan Saleem mistimed a shot and was caught in the covers. Addiscombe were 122 for 7 after 41 overs when Potter (27) was caught. Matthew Crocombe and Ben Cox continued chasing and added 27 runs.
But in the 48th over Crocombe (26) gave Riaz his 5th wicket lbw and Cox (8) went to Thompson. It was left to Dale Cooper (7*) and John Burton to oversee the innings' last balls as the visitors closed on 156 for 9 from 50 overs.
