Junior bookworms can win prizes for ploughing through stories this summer by joining Croydon's Book Trail which starts later this month.
The trail is free to join and aims to promote reading among youngsters encouraging participating children to read as many books as possible from a list compiled by library staff, picking up prizes on the way.
Some of the prizes, which include bookmarks and badges, have been designed by local youngsters themselves.
To take part, enrol at your local library, pick up a Book Trail reading list and start reading.
The initiative runs until August 24 in all Croydon libraries including the mobile library.
Details from the Central Library on 020 8760 5400.
