A summer ball attended by more than 200 parents of pupils at Christchurch Church of England Primary School, helped raise £9,000 for a computer suite being built at the school.
The school in Montpelier Road, Purley held an auction at the ball which was hosted by Capital Radio DJ and Pop Idol judge Neil Fox.
To mark the Queen's golden jubilee, the school held a thanksgiving service for the Queen and released 210 balloons from the school playground following a family picnic.
The children also made their own jubilee souvenirs by painting commemorative designs onto white, unglazed pottery. Equipment for the new suite will be bought with the cash raised, which included 5,000 from the auction alone, thanks to prizes like free Party in the Park tickets.
