ATHLETES from Loughton AC were in action at Watford in the Southern Womens League fixture, and came up against strong opposition.
On the day, fourth place was a good outcome, with a total of 120.5 points.
In the senior events individual wins were scored by Joanne Ryan in the A long jump, with a Personal Best of 4.73m (a club U17 record), Mary Hobbs in the B long jump (4.34m), Philippa Brown in the A discus (30.15m), and Jackie Brown in the B hammer (17.80m).
Joanne was also good in the sprints, taking second place in both the 100m (13.0s) and the 200m
(26.4s), while in the 100m hurdles, Amanda Hardy set a PB of 20.6sec taking second place in the A race, and Barbara Higgins was also at her best, setting a time of 23.1sec to take third place in the B race.
Vicky Steadman was also showing improvement in the 100m and the long jump.
Club race walk champion Francoise Fernandez stepped into the 1,500m at short notice and recorded a time of 7min 40.6sec.
