A 20-YEAR-OLD Swanley man has passed through 30 weeks of the toughest military training in the world to become a Royal Marine Commando.
Former Hextable Secondary School pupil Iain Foster was awarded his Green Beret after getting through endurance tests and a Tarzan-style assault course.
Iain said: "It's been a fantastic experience. The sense of achievement is immense but I know more challenges are to come, which we are well equipped to meet."
His proud dad Roy, 53, said: "It is superb. We will have to adapt to the thought of what he may be sent to do but they are so well trained they know what they're doing."
Keen swimmer Iain will do a signalling course before he hears about his first Commando posting.
