Youngsters from Swaffield Primary School in Wandsworth added a little colour to their school day by transforming an old storeroom into a welcoming classroom.
Pupils embarked on the Big Art design project to convert the space into a learning environment for the teaching of ethnic minority children.
As part of the project they produced mood boards showing colour schemes, themes and furnishings. The pupils were helped with the project by Susanne Lorencin from international design consultants DEGW.
She said: "The youngsters were split into teams, which designed schemes on scale plans and built fantastic models to use in their presentations."
The room now has window seats, cushions, rugs, paintings and ample storage space.
Headteacher Jenny Branston said: "The project has broadened the children's experience of the world of work and Susanne's assistance and personal magnetism has inspired them."
