Herne Hill Harriers moved up to ninth in the league after finishing second in their match last weekend, writes Stan Allen.
Gritty performances over 400m and 800m from Alex-andra Rushman and Helen Tolcher contributed valuable points towards Harriers' final score of 195 score.
Alexandra was second in the A 800m, with a personal best of two minutes 26.1 seconds, while Helen won the B event by a distance of 50m.
Alexandra then set another pb of 65 secs in the 400m, with Helen scoring well in the B string, and then they joined forces to help the 4x400m relay team to third place.
There were excellent first time performances in the triple jump from Rebekkah Passley and Chanelle Garnett, who won the A and B competitions with 11.18m and 11.08m.
The two athletes were also busy in the A and B long jumps, winning with distances of 5.78m and 5.21m.
There was a rash of personal best performances from the Harriers' squad, with Norma Gregory a shot specialist winning the B javelin with 31.80 and Shani Rainford, a high jump specialist, recording 9.37m in the shot.
But the best performance of the day came from 12-year-old Amelia Montegnani with vic-tory in the U15 high jump with 1.55m.She then ran a personal best of 63.0 secs for the 400m.
Match result: Dacorum & Tring 212 points, Herne Hill Harriers 195, Bournemouth 157, Enfield 134 and Newham & Essex Beagles 74.
