A PILOT course to train minibus drivers for special needs schoolchildren has seen its first students pass with flying colours.
The new Children Transport Assistants (CTAs) will ferry pupils with disabilities to, and from, Milestone School, New Ash Green.
The 11 adults spent two days learning how to manage disruptive behaviour, issues around child protection as well as basic first aid, roadside vehicle repair and safety.
Run by Kent County Council, the course will be extended county-wide after the successful pilot in New Ash Green and Sevenoaks.
For more information about becoming a CTA, call the county council's passenger transport manager Julia Seaward on 01622 605091.
