Voluntary organisations in the borough who are looking for funding are being invited to turn to Croydon Council for help. Croydon's social services department, who have been grant aiding local groups for years, would like to hear from any charitable organisation who want to bid for funding.
At the Community Care Grants Panel in May, successful bids included £1,500 for a trike for disabled people, £2,000 to launch the Elder Unite Friendship Club and £1,000 to help update the Croydon Epilepsy Society's information service.
Croydon's social services provides funding for more than 70 projects annually consisting of small grants or longer contracts lasting up to three years.
To apply before the panel meets again in September, contact the council's grants officer Sandra Wray on 020 8686 4433 ext 2878.
