The Canbury Music Awards presentation will take place this weekend with several organisations set to receive welcome boosts.
Five keyboards have been donated by ABC Music while Bentalls, the Rowan Bentall Charity Trust and the Rotary Club of New Malden will fund an arts week at Burlington Infants' School in Burlington Road, New Malden.
The Canbury Music Awards Supporters Club will present an amplifier to Kingston Youth Concert Band.
Councillor Mary Reid will present the awards to the deserving groups this Sunday at 3pm at Canbury Gardens bandstand.
The awards were first launched five years ago to encourage local music groups and mark the completion of the bandstand. Since then, more than £10,000 has been distributed to 30 different local music groups. More support is needed in order to continue with the awards.
If you would like to join the supporters' club or know of an organisation that might like to sponsor the event, ring Michael Davison on 020 8546 0230.
