OUTPATIENT services at The Old Wanstead Hospital have been relaunched following a huge renovation programme.
A total of £155,000 was spent by the Chingford, Wanstead and Woodford Primary Care Trust to replace the roof, install automatic entrance doors, put in a new reception area and an automated phlebotomy service.
The money was also used to redecorate inside the building and replace the furniture and curtains
Wanstead Hospital's outpatient department provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, phlebotomy, rheumatology consultant outpatient clinics and hydrotherapy.
Complaints had been made about the poor state of the outpatient building and the trust worked with a local resident and user of the services, Mrs Sonia McDonald, whose help and effort were thanked for at the relaunch of the building.
