IN THESE troubled times of corporate mismanagement, a Bexley company has won an award for its good administration.

But the company, producing painted glasses, Valentine cards and handmade candles is no ordinary one. It is Enigma, the Young Enterprise company from the Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School.

The company, run by pupils from the school in Sidcup, is Bexley Young Enterprise champion and has competed against other winning schools in east London.

The event was held at the University of East London and sponsored by HSBC and Thames Water.

Enigma won the award for the best-administered company, presented by the Institute of Chartered Secretaries. It also won an award for the best display stand.

Young Enterprise is co-ordinated by the Bexley Education Business Partnership and aims to educate young people about the value and role of business, through setting up and running their own companies.
