Londonwide: Thames Water's purification results have risen for the ninth year in a row.
According to a new report, published by independent watchdog the Drinking Water Inspectorate last Wednesday (July 10), the quality of Thames Water is better than ever, with 99.91 per cent of tests passing strict UK and EU standards last year.
The figure is also marginally higher than the overall statistic for England and Wales.
Over 484,000 tests were made last year, with nearly all passing requirement levels.
Managing Director of Thames Water Utilities John Sexton said: "The news that we have again reached a new high is very pleasing.
"It is a significant achievement which is the result of ongoing improvements in our water treatment and distribution processes."
Thames Water supplies an average of 2,750 million litres per day to 7.9 million customers across London and the Thames Valley.
