The Potters Bar and District Photographic Society is in the midst of its annual exhibition at the Dutch Nursery on Great North Road.
The society has been running since 1948 and its chairman Tony Mead, 60, has been taking photographs since he was 15.
"Most of my talent is natural," he said. "My mother was an artist and I got into photography because both my brothers were into photography.
"My main subject matter is natural history. I take photos of fungi. I go to Firs Wood and Epping Forest.
"I'm always looking out for new species."
Tony says he's not looking to sell his photographs but if anyone wants to buy one, he'll agree a figure.
Some 50 members of the society meet for lectures, competitions and demonstrations on Monday evenings at the Wyllyotts Centre in Darkes Lane.
They have two dozen pieces to display, from portraits to landscapes.
The exhibition runs until July 21 and is open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday. Admission is free.
