I stared in disbelief at two letters you published last week about the inconvenience suffered by motorists' who no longer have Partingdale Lane as their shortcut.
Both writers had addresses in quiet, safe cul-de-sacs with the added protection of pavements. The safety they enjoy, they feel, is not necessary for us.
While they can happily walk to the postbox or the school, they want us to step out of our houses, with no pavement, directly onto a main road so that they can shorten their car trips by a few minutes.
Yes, the detour is inconvenient, but it is a lot more inconvenient becoming an accident victim or living in fear for your children's lives.
