A PRIMARY school has been declared a "good and effective", school by Ofsted.
Adamsrill Primary School, Bishopsthorpe Road, Sydenham, has received a report which declares the school a success.
It says "Adamsrill is a good and effective school" and compliments the overall standard of teaching.
At the end of 2001, pupils at the school achieved standards in national tests which, compared with similar schools, were very high.
The report states learning at the school is improved, not only by an interesting range of extra-curricular activities, but also by the positive relationships between staff and pupils, the strong links with the local community and parental involvement.
Ofsted's final statement is "the school provides good value for money".
The governors of Adamsrill Primary School were pleased with the report and congratulated the hard-working staff and pupils.
