HARROW Firsts played South Hampstead on Saturday, July 6 in a game reduced to 68 overs.
Put into bat first Harrow struggled on a damp wicket. At 100 for five Harrow looked like setting a decent total. This wasn't to be and the team ended up all out for 133 with Dave Walker top scoring on 40.
South Hampstead lost two early wickets and then settled down reaching their target without loosing any further wickets.
Harrow Seconds continued their winning run with a good win away at Kenton. Batting first Harrow scored quickly with the runs shared by four batsmen. Syd Ahmed (62), Steve Clarke (52), Paul Stott (64) and Carl MacManaway 42 (not out).
Kenton never really got going and wickets fell consistently throughout their
innings. Pick of the bowlers was Syd Ahmed with 4 for 11.
Harrow Thirds had a poor start to their innings which was completely against their current form and at 84 for seven looked like struggling to mount a decent total.
Steven Carroll (120) and Mitesh Patel 79 (not out) then crashed 169 runs during the next 17 overs.
Harrow finally declared on 291 for eight. Steven Carroll eventually bowled after reaching his maiden 100.
Kenton set about their reply with real purpose and after 10 overs had scored 55 runs. Wickets soon started to fall and Kenton closed up shop and settled for a losing draw.
On Sunday Harrows Seconds entertained Preston in the Chess Valley League.
Batting first Preston scored 155 all out in 31 overs with Nigel Streahorn the star of the show taking five for 38. Harrow had a poor start and lost early wickets.
The middle order came to the rescue with Steve Ashton (45) not out and David Knight (33). Harrow reached their target in the 41st over for the loss of seven wickets.
Harrow Thirds played a friendly at Wembley and batting first they scored 261 for four declared with Shad Shah (83) not out and run machine Mitesh Patel 71.
Wembley struggled throughout their innings and only managed 109 all out in reply.
Skipper Jeff Harris the pick of the bowlers taking four for 51. Youngsters James Romero and Edward Bennison both taking outstanding catches.
