ELTHAM PARK TOWNSWOMENS GUILD
The guilds programme of summer music continued with a recital by flutist Peter Blundell accompanied by Jane Beament from the Blackheath Conservatoire. As Minna Banks said in her vote of thanks, this was something unusual for the guild and much enjoyed.
In June, the ladies had been entertained by their own popular choir, the Golden Girls and in May with the Magic of Bells by Sandra Winter which has already been reported. Votes of thanks for these concerts were given by Janet Leggett and Betty Bain.
Norma Challis gave a report on her attendance as delegate to the NCM in Cardiff and Bar-bara Connor, Brenda Willis and Carol Staples (standing in for Ettie Nicoal) repeated their en-try for the Betty Grant Trophy for the benefit of members who had not heard it.
This had been a competition to depict the lives of women from various ages in the past com-pared with today, and the Eltham Park brief had been the Saxon era. Although a difficult era to research the team's presentation was very lively and informative and much appreciated by the audience.
