Adequate 7 have just finished their studies at university. But unlike most students they are not thinking of finding part-time work or picking up a rucksack to go backpacking.
Their minds are focused on their music and getting it heard.
The seven band members have also just finished a major tour with leading hardcore lights Capdown and the mighty Hundred Reason. Now their on another tour!
The bands story is an inspirational one. Adequate 7 include members Pete on guitar, Jonny on bass, Ben on drums, Jamie on vocals, Tom on trombone, Kazz on guitar and Squeak on trumpet. They were always close friends, in their hometown of Cardiff, but played in different bands and had different influences until they took the wise decision to fuse their styles together. The result? Adequate 7 forged a distinctive groove-laden hardcore sound which was quickly snapped up by Household Name Records.
The funk, ska and hardcore band will be supported by Kenisia a heavy-on-the-brass ska and punk band. The band from Bristol have just released their second album, Nothing To Say, on the same Household Record Label. The album has a vast range of influences but each tune stands out it's kept me humming and foot-tapping in the office all week.
Both bands are worth seeing just for the exhilaration of the ska beat.
