A 74th minute try by Lee Harland has blown the race for the sixth place play-off spot in Tetley's Rugby Super League wide open after Castleford Tigers gained a 24-20 win at London Broncos on Saturday.
London had threatened to come back from an 18-6 deficit when Russell Bawden went over and Tony Martin, who had opened the scoring with a converted try, added two more goals to cut the gap to four points.
But Harland touched down a Wayne Bartrim kick to add to an earlier brace from Darren Rogers and a try by Danny Orr to seal two points.
A late try to Nigel Roy made the final two minutes nervous for Tigers coach Graham Steadman, but the win leaves them five points behind sixth placed Widnes and prevented London from breaking into the play-off places.
It's a must win game now for London against Hull this Saturday Griffin Park (6 p.m.). Adult tickets bought in advance are £8, and children start at £2.
