For one night only singer, songwriter and actor Vince Hill will be belting out a catalogue of his favourite songs at the Kenneth More Theatre in Ilford.

The recording star, famous for hit records such as Edelweiss and Roses Of Picardy, will be at the theatre in Oakhill Road on Wednesday next week.

His show, called With a Song in My Heart, includes guests and supporting musicians.

The evening's entertainment features songs from the musical Showboat to Andrew Lloyd Webber numbers as well as new and old songs from the singer's collection.

The singer has earned a national and international reputation by touring the USA and has performed a series of concerts with the Florida Symphony Orchestra, legendary Squadronaires and the BBC Big Band.

He has also performed at the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall and the London Palladium.

Vince has had a varied career since he began in the 1960s. He has been a TV host and had several hit TV series which include They Sold A Million, The Musical Time Machine and Gas Street.

The singer's talents have also stretched to acting and writing and he made his acting debut in the BBC radio drama Tolpuddle.

Vince also played the legendary composer Ivor Novello in a tour of the stage musical My Dearest Ivor and the Lion in an adaptation of the Wizard of Oz by the Royal Shakespeare Company .

He is currently recording an album for Hallmark and his latest CD, Songs of My Life, features all his chart-topping classics.
