FORMER pupils and teachers of Clarendon School, formerly in South Oxhey, are being sought out for a special reunion.

Some ex-pupils of the school, which closed and moved from the original buildings in the late 1960s, have decided to hold a reunion party in what is known as the old Clarendon block - the last original building still standing today - before it is demolished in September.

The Clarendon School reunion is planned for Saturday, August 10, from 7pm until 11pm.

One of the party organisers Mrs Mo Mills said the Clarendon School site was now used for housing and that the old Clarendon block, the last remaining building, is scheduled to be demolished to make way for more homes in September.

Mrs Mills said that her and other people helping to organise the event, had used the website Friends Reunited to track some old school chums down but that anyone connected with the school either through being a student or teacher is invited to the party.

Clarendon School closed and moved from the premises in Chilwell Gardens, South Oxhey, in order to amalgamate with Hampdon School to form Sir James Althan School which has also since closed down.

For more information telephone Mrs Mills on 07956 212238.
