Maori-Oxshott 163 Old Mid-Whitgiftian 165-4
Peter James hit 73 as Old Mid-Whitgiftian returned to the top of Surrey Championship Division Two with a convincing six-wicket success over Maori-Oxshott.
Mids sent their opponents in but the home side began strongly until Gardner dismissed Oldridge. A steady stream of wickets allowed Mids to apply pressure as Maori were reduced to 85-6.
Shattock and Fuller added 46 but Gardner (4-61) and Brugnoli (2-45) polished off the tail as Maori were bowled out for 163.
Mids made a poor start to the run chase when Paul Kember and Warne were dismissed quickly but James' positive approach transformed the match as he reached 50 in 62 balls.
He added 45 with Trend (25) and received further support from Brugnoli (23 not out) before being dismissed as Mids cruised home with five overs to spare.
