Conservative councillors sought to draw a line this week under the crisis of confidence that led to a mass parental boycott of St John's School in Crescent Road, Friern Barnet.
In opposition they had promised to have another review into the events which occurred after accusations of 'sexually inappropriate behaviour' against a five-year-old boy dating back to October 2000. But the Tories now feel that another review would not be beneficial a view backed by the school's chairwoman of governors, Fiona Childs. She said: "We would certainly not welcome another review, it would interfere with the process of moving on."
Councillor Vanessa Gearson, the cabinet member for education, also praised the school's recent glowing Ofsted report and promised further changes which will to be announced in September which would make sure that such a crisis could never happen again.
