THIS week saw the official launch of the borough's first two community warden schemes, even though it has been active for three months.
Stanwell warden, Mick Raynor, and Sunbury Common warden, Daniel Atkins, took centre stage at Spelthorne Borough Council's Knowle Green offices in their distinctive red uniforms yesterday (Wednesday), as they received their formal training certificate from Spelthorne Mayor, Cllr Robin Sider, in a formal ceremony.
The scheme is funded by Spelthorne, Surrey County Council, Surrey Police and the Airways and Apex Housing Groups and the government's Neighbourhood Renewal Unit, and runs until March 2003.
