An 87-year-old woman foiled an attempted burglary at her home after challenging a man who claimed to be a water board engineer.
The man called at her home in Coombe Road, Kingston, at 4.30pm on Tuesday, July 9, and flashed a green identity card before walking into the kitchen of the house.
The pensioner challenged him after becoming suspicious about his motives. A brief struggle broke out before the man left with his accomplice who appeared in the kitchen doorway.
The first man is white, aged 18, 5ft 10ins, with short brown hair, wearing a blue shirt, woollen body warmer and light blue jeans. His accomplice was white, aged 45, 5ft 4ins, and spoke with an Irish accent.
