An appeal has gone out for more people to take up careers in early years childcare and play work to mark the launch of National Childcare Month in Wandsworth.
Councillor Tessa Strickland, chairman of the Early Years Development Childcare Partnership, made the plea at an afternoon of music, dance and discussion at the Brandlehow School Playscheme.
Young people aged eight to 11 years provided the entertainment, using drama to raise the childcare issues
including bullying, graffiti and the environment.
For information on how to embark on a childcare
career, call the council's children's information
service on 020 8871 7899.
