Kingstonian secured a six-wicket win over Byfleet to stay second in the Fuller's Surrey League.

Ks reached their target of 182 to win with six wickets in hand. Shahid Mahmood scored 69.

The usually-prolific Maz Hassan managed just two runs, but a quick 50 stand between Nadim Malik and Shakil Amin steered Ks to victory.

Earlier, Byfleet had crawled to 181 in the 65th over, the maximum they are allowed by league rules and 10 more than they could use if they were to retain any batting points they had collected.

But they had struggled from the off, with Malik (2-7) and Amir Nazir making early inroads that left the opposition 41-5 and then 95-7.

Nazir ended up with 4-81, but the pick of an impressive attack was Habib Ullah, who finished with 1-20 from

16 overs and showed what a key figure he could be over Ks' remaining eight league games.

Kingstonian are at home to Frimley on Saturday.
