London airports could be disrupted next month if members of the GMB union vote to strike.
Roughly 1,500 ground staff, including check in personnel and baggage handlers, were asked to vote to decide whether they should strike over pay.
The result of the ballot is due tomorrow.
The union wants Aviance, who run ground services at airports, to give staff a three per cent pay rise.
GMB official Ed Blisset said: "Our members need decent rises to help them pay rising bills and cope with the high cost of living in places like the South East."
