ON visits to Chingford from Australia, where we migrated in 1964, we are always dismayed at the demise of Larkswood Pool.
We have such happy memories of this beautiful facility, which eventually became a blight on the landscape.
To all those councillors who were responsible for its closure and ugly replacement (FantaSeas), I say shame on you. However, I believe it has been now resurrected to some degree, but in what form I have yet to see on my next visit.
Apart from that, Chingford has retained much of its charm and has remained relatively unspoiled by the march of progress.
