I am fed up with people setting smouldering bonfires going as soon as the weather starts getting warm.

This is the time of year when people like to fling their windows open and hang their washing out in the fresh air. Some people think it is acceptable to light fires after dusk but this is unpleasant for those who like to ventilate their bedrooms.

I understand Sutton is bound by the Clean Air Act and is a designated smoke- free zone, so this anti-social behaviour can be reported to Environmental Health Officers and they are very efficient in dealing with it (in total confidence).

Green waste collection or composting is a far more constructive way of getting rid of garden waste and does not contribute to global warming.
