AN outstanding performance from Borehamwood took them through to the Herts County Cup semi-finals.
Wood were quickly into their stride, playing some neat football and creating several early chances.
Danny Fitzgerald finished off a good move down the right to give Wood the lead on ten minutes, and a further strike from the in-form Ross Hanley put them two up at the break.
Two Mitch Haylock right-wing crosses set up goals for Nuno Gourgel and Martin Wells to make it 4-0, before Gourgel rifled home number five from the edge of the box after a flowing move involving Greg Morgan and Aaron Woodcock, who scored the sixth soon after.
Great defensive displays from Tom Cadmore, Dennis Paratusic and Richard Barker stopped East Herts in their tracks, and Hanley scored the seventh before the home side caught Wood on the break and scored a good goal past keeper Jack Mullinger.
However, normal service was soon resumed, with a great finish from Martin Wells and a powerful volley from Hanley, for his hat-trick, sealing a fantastic win.
