ROVERS fired back into First Division league action after eight weeks, with a sparkling performance against last season's champions.
Craig Dobson fired in a 20-yard free-kick after ten minutes, and, as Rovers' midfield began to dominate the play, Scott Dennis latched on to a slotted through ball from Jack Denham and chipped the keeper to make it 2-0.
After conceeding a sloppy rebound goal from a Finchley corner, Dennis finished another fine move to consolodate Rovers' first-half domination.
Fine defending from the Rovers' back four ensured their goalkeeper had a quiet afternoon, and second-half action saw man-of-the-match Dennis score two more, with Luke Bartlett adding the sixth to round off a fine display.
