Assistant boss Nicky English said his side had let Dons fans down in their 2-0 defeat at Hartley Wintney on Saturday.
He said: "I am disappointed, and I know Terry (Eames) is, because we don't feel that the comittment was given in the first 20 minutes.
"We were very unlucky with some of the chances, and it seemed like fate, but you can't give someone a 10 yard start in a race and think you are going to beat them over 30. This is something that we have got to sort out quickly.
"We have got to get a bit more spirit in the side because we feel that the supporters are so good - they are absolutely unbelievable - and they deserved to get more.
"We have got to make sure that we do that, whether it means bringing in new players from a better standard or whatever.
"These supporters have got to be treated like they treat us.
"It is hard to give bright points when we have lost two-nil and I just don't think that the big players have performed well enough. The players we know can play well didn't."
