TWO young recruits have successfully completed their training and will now be fighting fires, attending road accidents, rescuing people in danger and delivering fire safetly advice throughout south west Hertfordshire.
Michael Joseph, 34, and Phillip Teye-Otum, 23, have both completed their courses at Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service's Training and Development Centre in Stevenage.
Mr Joseph will be stationed at Rickmansworth and Mr Teye-Otum at Watford.
They both attended a Pass Out Parade at Stevenage last week. Hertfordshire's Chief Fire Officer, Steve Seaber, was at the parade, as well as other fire officers, County Councillor Gerald Game, who has Executive Responsibility for Fire and Rescue and family and friends of the new firefighters.
Mr Seaber said "All these recruits have successfully completed all the elements of the course and have demonstrated that they are competent to Pass Out and begin their careers as wholetime firefighters.
"The Pass Out Parade is a very proud moment for them all as so much hard work had been put into the course."
