Young people and those with few qualifications in Sutton stand to benefit from nearly £7million which will be ploughed into education and training in south London.
London South Learning and Skills Council will be funding various projects in the coming year to help train and educate disadvantaged groups.
The organisation has received £6million from the European Union to fund training schemes to help get people into employment and learning projects.
And £750,000 will finance schemes targeting 16 to 19 year olds from the most disadvantaged areas and those who have left full-time education without qualifications.
Exactly how the cash will be spent will be decided between now and April and more than 200 potential bidders have submitted plans for education and training schemes.
A prospectus outlining the Learning and Skills Council's funding plan will be unveiled next Friday, January 30, at the Warner Village Cinema in Croydon.
Training organisations interested in attending the launch can book a place by calling 020 8929 4776. The prospectus can be viewed on the internet from January 27 by visiting www.slip.org.uk.
