A GROUP of Lewisham College students have travelled to Germany to visit the Berlin College of Building (Knobelsdorffschule) as part of an unusual adult exchange programme.
The 14 Lewisham students were drawn from vocational courses in brickwork, carpentry, joinery and travel and tourism and the trip enabled them to learn more about German building methods and systems. Lewisham College will return the compliment in the spring when a group of students from the Berlin College of Building will visit Britain.
Self-employed Matt Bare is currently completing an NVQ level 3 Brickwork programme at the college.
He said: "It was a very enjoyable and interesting trip and I learned a lot from it. I was very pleased to have taken part, even though I lost two weeks' income."
