Rents are to rise on council homes, it was confirmed last Thursday night, when the council's housing committee voted for an average £5 increase for tenants, with bigger properties facing higher increases.
Labour councillors proposed lowering the average rise to £4 but were voted down because savings would have to be found from redevelopment work in Putney Vale.
The rent increases are accompanied by an extensive programme of refurbishment and maintenance work.
The council's executive is expected to rubber stamp the decision in February.
