A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering self-employed roofer Derek Andrews, who was found dead near the Grand Union Canal in Croxley Green last month.
A 38-year-old man was arrested in Carmarthen in Wales on Monday, January 27, and taken to a local police station for questioning.
Mr Andrews' decomposing body was discovered on wasteland between the River Gade and the Grand Union Canal on Boxing Day.
He had been missing from his home in Houghton Regis, near Dunstable, for four weeks.
The 33-year-old was last seen alive on November 28.
He had recently moved away from Harrow Weald because it is believed he wanted to "make a fresh start".
Detective Superintendent Bob Saunders, who is leading the murder investigation, said: "This has been a significant step forward in our investigation.
"We will continue to carry out enquiries in connection with this murder and we urge anyone who has information concerning this incident to contact us."
Anyone with information can telephone the police incident room on 01442 271188 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
