THE Winners of London Broncos Prop Idol competition will be unveiled on February 23rd at the team's first home game of the season against Halifax at Griffin Park.
The Broncos launched a nationwide search for new talent at the beginning of the year and the three successful players were announced on Sunday after the final trial at Brunel University's Osterley campus.
Two of the winners James Hersey of Leamington Spa, and Michael Lowis of Bath have never played rugby league before while the third, New Zealander Sam Wilson, has been playing union for the past three years.
The campaign was based along the lines of the hit TV show Pop Idol and the victors will all be offered a professional contract with the club.
They will train with the club for a month and play in their pre-season friendly with Warrington on February 2nd.
Hersey said: "I am over the moon at being asked to join the squad. I never would have become involved with rugby league were it not for prop idol.
"I think it's a great concept and I'm looking forward to the next challenge."
