A SENIOR officer with Hertfordshire Constabulary, Deputy Chief Constable Peter Maddison, is leaving to join Northamptonshire Police as its Chief Constable.
DCC Maddison joined the county's force in 1997 and was promoted to his current post in 2000.
He has played pivotal roles in dealing with major local incidents such as the Potters Bar and Hatfield rail crashes, as well as overseeing recent recruitment drives and new regulations imposed by the Government's Police Reform Act.
He said: "I have really enjoyed working with the constabulary and will miss my colleagues and the friends I have made.
"Hertfordshire is a great force and has made significant strides in improving the service to our communities in the last few years. I am sure it will continue to do so."
