A man who collapsed in a burning building in West Croydon last week escaped serious injury when fire fighters rescued him from the first floor.
The man declined medical treatment after suffering smoke inhalation from the fire at the derelict Wiseguys disused bar on London Road last Friday (January 24).
Passers-by alerted fire fighters at 1.50pm when they saw flames coming from the boarded-up building.
On entering the premises, officers discovered the man on the first floor who had been trying to escape the flames.
Officers are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
