Raynes Park 6
Streatham-Croydon 15
Streatham remain on course for promotion from Surrey Division 2 with a 15-6 win at Raynes Park.
Tries either side of half time from Dean Taylor and Stefan Van Wyk were sufficient reply to Park's two converted penalties.
In the second half a single score separated the teams, and Streatham's play was often anxious and lacking in cohesion.
With 15 minutes remaining, Streatham secured a five-metre lineout and, taking quick possession, drove over Park's line, it was left for scrumhalf Stefan Van Wyk to dart over for an opportunist try. Lightwater visit Frant Road on Saturday (KO2.15pm).
Old Alleynians 13
Streatham-Croydon 7
Last week Streatham's hopes of a first return to Twickenham since the Middlesex Sevens of 1985 sank in the mud at Old Alleynians.
Streatham were outdone by Alleynians who starved the three-quarters of any quality possession and ended six points ahead.
