A MAN disqualified from driving four months ago could face prison after appearing in court for driving during his ban.

John Hamlet, 21, of Osprey Close, Watford, was warned he could spend his 22nd birthday behind bars after pleading guilty to a charge of driving while disqualified and driving without insurance in Villiers Road, on Friday, January 10.

Mr David Chrimes, prosecuting, said the offence was aggravated by the fact that on October 18 last year, Hamlet had been convicted of driving while disqualified.

Adjourning on Wednesday for pre-sentence reports, bench chairman Mr Alan Burton warned Hamlet the crime was so serious "we must consider whether to send you to prison".

Hamlet was released on unconditional bail until Tuesday, March 4.
