ANOTHER year and another superb FA Cup run comes to an end, albeit in the cruelest of circumstances.
We travelled up to Norwich on Friday where we were put up in a fantastic hotel and there was a lot of free time which the boys passed in various fashions.
Jamie Murat brought his Playstation 2 with him which he, PT, Vaughny and Westie played some football game on. Westie didn't last to long though as he is a bit of a bad loser! Robbo was training in someone's back garden with Micky Payne, the goalie coach, and was left a good luck souvenir by a spectating dog!
The atmosphere when we actually came out for the game was electric, our fans were magnificent throughout and didn't stop singing even when we went behind.
Norwich were obviously a very good side but although they had the better chances I don't think anyone could say we didn't match them.
The boys worked their socks off and to lose to such a late goal was absolutely sickening. It was nice to get a standing ovation from the home supporters and there were certainly a few tears shed as we walked round.
Back to our main objective of getting to the play-offs on Tuesday and any worries of a Cup hangover were quashed in a brilliant first half display. The second half saw them get back into the game a bit but two goals from the returning Steino sealed a great three points.
FA Trophy time on Saturday and as we haven't done very well in this of late it would be nice to put together a decent run. It would certainly be nice to have a play-off and Trophy final double come the end of the season.
