Sir,-It is a great shame to see events off the field at Kingstonian overshadowing those on the field yet again. And I feel especially sorry for manager Kim Harris who has to put up with this nonsense throughout his time at Ks.
If he were to turn around tomorrow and say he's had enough of it and walk away, I wouldn't blame him. But I hope he doesn't.
And I hope that every Kingstonian supporter, whatever their view on the off-field situation, takes the chance to offer their support to Kim.
He's done a good job as assistant manager and now manager. He deserves the chance to continue to do that job without all these hassles behind the scenes.-Ali Kazemi, Wolverton Avenue, Kingston Hill.
Sir,-I am writing to express my dismay at the attempts of former directors of Kingstonian to block plans to take the club out of administration. Among the former directors to vote against were Chris Kelly, Alan Kingston, Barry Gold, Gerry Desler and Malcolm Grant. All these men were responsible, as directors, for taking the club into administration in the first place.
They presided over a financial shambles which left the club owing £885,000 to various parties.
These included the Inland Revenue, owed £179,000 in payroll liabilities and Barclays Bank, owed more than £400,000. Last May, a number of them made an offer to buy the club, under the guise of a Fans Consortium.
This bid was higher, in cash terms, than that tabled by the Khoslas, the current club owners. But Barclays Bank, who appointed the administrators, rejected it as it was a conditional' offer. Some of the directors had made significant financial guarantees to the bank and were looking to free themselves of those obligations.
In such circumstances, the bank's refusal to accept a lower monetary bid wasn't as unfair as the likes of Chris Kelly maintain in the football press and in various website postings.
So now we have a group of people, who ran up unpayable debts when in charge of Ks and looked to worm their way out of paying guarantees to the bank, preaching to the current owners how they should run Kingstonian's affairs and actively canvassing support for their return.
Their track record as Ks directors was appalling. They displayed in very recent times how unsuitable they are to be running Kingstonian. I would urge all Kingstonian fans to remember that- Mark Murphy, Hunters Road, Chessington,
