A HARROW Weald student was stabbed to death after leaving a nightclub in Ealing during the early hours of Wednesday last week.
Paul Carr, 25, who was originally from Omagh in Northern Ireland, had been at the Boulevard Nightclub.
He and two friends, both in their 20s, left the club at 2am, and were walking towards Ealing Broadway behind a group of two or three women and two men. Mr Carr approached one of the women and began talking to her before allegedly assaulting her.
The two men accompanying the women intervened, one of them producing a knife, and chased Mr Carr back the way they had come.
He tried to get into the lapdancing club LA Confidential but was refused admission and was attacked outside the club by the two men and fatally stabbed. His attackers fled.
Mr Carr was taken by ambulance to New West Ealing Hospital, where he died an hour later. A post mortem at the hospital later that morning gave the cause of death as multiple stab wounds.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian West, of of the Serious Crime Group West, said: "I appeal to anyone who was in the area during the time this incident took place to come forward. We need information from the public to establish exactly what happened.
"We believe that the woman involved in the first altercation suffered some facial injuries and I particularly appeal to her and her friends to come forward."
CCTV in the area is being examined. Anyone with any information should call the police incident room on 020 7321 7228.
