TERRIFIED staff at a petrol station were victims of crime ten times in the space of a week.
In the latest incident, last Wednesday, a man walked up to the counter at the Tesco petrol station in Glencoe Road, Yeading, and put a packet of biscuits on the counter.
He then pulled out a gun and threatened the cashier, telling him to open the till. When the cashier refused, he fired the gun twice into the floor, and then ran off without taking anything.
The petrol station first came under attack on January 13 when a man went in just before closing time and threatened staff with a meat cleaver.
He fled with £100 from the till.
Police say that between those dates eight other incidents have been reported including shoplifting, robberies outside the petrol station, theft from a motor vehicle and a bomb hoax.
A spokesman for Tesco said of the latest incident: "Two members of staff were in the petrol station when the man came in.
"Shots were fired at the floor and they were blanks. No members of staff were injured.
"The shop remained closed for the rest of the night.
"It is our policy in situations like this to offer staff time off, counselling, or any other support they might need.
"We are working with the police, and we do have CCTV footage and other security measures in place."
Sergeant Neil Freeman from Ruislip Crime Desk confirmed the area had been a 'hotspot' for crime and urged anyone with information to come forward.
