Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man was found stabbed to death at his home on Clapham Common Northside over the weekend.
The body of the 54-year-old was discovered after police were called to the address on Sunday evening.
The man, whose identity has not yet been released while police contact his next of kin, had been stabbed repeatedly and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the inquiry and is being held in custody at Battersea police station.
The results of a postmortem, held at St George's Hospital, in Tooting, on Monday were yet to be announced at the time the Guardian went to press.
A police spokesman said: "We must retain an open mind concerning a motive at this early stage."
Anyone with information is asked to contact DCI Paul McAleenan at the incident room at Earlsfield on 020 8247 8262 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
