A 21-year-old burglar who broke into a Wandsworth off-licence and stole £100 worth of booze is to go to prison for breaking a community rehabilitation order.
Daniel Sibley, from Tilehurst Road, kicked in a glass panel to enter Unwins, in Wimbledon Park Road, back in December 2000 and was arrested the same evening after being spotted by a local resident.
He was given a community rehabilitation order but failed to attend supervision on four occasions in April 2001.
Appearing in custody at South Western Magistrates' Court on Friday, he was given six weeks in prison and ordered to serve half the sentence.
In mitigation the court heard how Sibley blamed his offences on binge drinking but had now got his life back "on track" and was pursuing a plumbers apprenticeship.
